It has been ages since I have written. I have 3 blogs and I've been avoiding them, not because I really am avoiding it, but because I have been extremely busy. Since the beginning of March till the end of April there has been a party every week which I attended, not mentioning the boys birthdays were also between the loads of parties. Then on top of everything there were sick kids and I've been sick too. Things have been on hold. I have been trying to book my learners for the past month or so, but had no luck. I eventually got hold of them on Monday in which I was given a date to come in to book. I thought I'd be able to book over the phone. Apparently not. Grrrrr, just my luck, so come Tuesday 26th I'll be standing in line to book my learner, what fun. The nerves are getting the better of me. I know I should study, but I still don't feel like it is real. Is it, mmm it must be. Well enough of me, some knews about the boys.
They are growing so big. Caydon turned 3 in April, time really does pass us by quickly. He is just too cute. He has this pose which is just adorable. To get it I just ask him where is my sexy boy and you get this 'me sexy boy' and a pose. It is just adorable makes me want to kiss him loads. With the boys being sick so much I realised that Caydon has not had his last injection the measels one. I hope he still can get it. His dad was suppose to take him when I was away, but when he went they told him to come a different day. It was not possible and he forgot to mention it to me. I didn't ask or think to look at the clinic card until the other day when I was looking for some info. Grrr I feel like a bad mom for not noticing.
Jarid is improving so much his speach is still a struggle and some words aren't that clear, but they are so much clearer then they use to be. He is overcoming his shyness, even though he is still a bit shy, but his teacher says that she is sure he will overcome it by the end of the year. He does gymnastics which he loves. I have to find another activity for him, not sure what to do. I was hoping to start him with swimming lessons again when the weather gets warmer, just to find a teacher. Other then that he is doing so well. Sending him to a different school has really helped my baby. His behaviour has changed so much, we still at each other throats, but not as much and I am not stressed about it like I use to be. I get loves and cuddles all the time from him and I have not heard once that he doesn't want me as a mommy anymore or that he is going to find a different mommy. I can't believe that in 2 years time he will be starting Grade 1, where does the time go to.
Well I'm off to put a movie on for Caydon, yip he is still at home with me. Till next time, can't promise it will be any time soon, but hope to be.

Happy Birthday Jarid
Today is my oldest baby's birthday. Jarid turned 5 today. Where does the time go. I can't believe how quickly he has grown. Though he turned 5 he really wants to be 7, not sure what is so special about the age 7, but yip that is the age my son wants to be. His morning started with mommy asking him whose birthday is today and then climbed into bed with him holding him and kissing him all over and singing happy birthday to him. He was all full of smiles. After all the hugs, kissess and singing he said to me mommy I am a big boy now hey. Aww aren't they just too cute. Well he really loves his gift. This child is not really into toys, just computer games, xbox games, so it is difficult to find something for him. Well after much discussion with his father we decided to get him a PSP and boy oh boy is he over the moon about his 'baby laptop'. He loves it. He is so excited that he can watch movies and play games on it and he can even take it places, so no more getting bored in the car while driving long distance. It was a gift well spent. He is also excited that he can sit in bed and play or watch a movie. He now wants us to put music on for him, so that will be the next step. Aww, my baby is getting big.
My prayer for you my son on your 5th birthday
Is that God will watch over you every day
That he will guide me as a mother to be the best mom that I can
That he'll light up the path on which you walk
And when you stumble be there for you
Like he is there for me.
My boy, may your birthday be filled with happiness and joy
May each hour spent be an hour that will last forever
May your wishes and dreams come true
And may you forever be the little star you are
We love you very much
and forever will love you

Jarid's Week At School
Jarid had a fabulous week at school. He woke up all full of smiles. He was playful and very energetic. When we go and fetch him, he is happy, before he was miserable. Crying, moaning and just extremely moody. He enjoys the 'homework' that he gets and can't wait to get to school. He is a little shy, but really likes his teacher. He was all excited that on Friday he had tuckshop and could buy sweets. This week they learnt decipline and had we had to leave them at the front door so they could go to the classroom by themselves. They have a book at the front desk where you sign them in and out. Jarid was so excited to have to do that. He told me when we fetched him that it was fun. This teaches them to be independant and seen as he is that sort of child it was so something that was meant for him.
Did I tell you that we had for the first time since school started a good week with Jarid. He is not fighting with us as much when we ask him to do something then he does it. He doesn't moan or fight with us, I think once out of the whole week we had a rough day and even then it wasn't as bad as it usually is. I am so happy my boy is in a place where he can be happy.
Homework he got:
A list of words he had to learn
learning the difference between birthday and born
Then he had to do some activities like catch and throw a ball. Jump on one leg and star jumps. He really enjoyed that, not to mention that mommy also got to do a bit of exercise. hehe.
Well that is all for now. Mommy just did her exercise and needs to go and take a nice relaxing bath.
Till next time have a great weekend.

School, No Night Nappy & Weight
Jarid started his new school today. He was so excited in the morning. He could not wait to go to his new 'big' school. He carried his toiletries to the car and then again to the classroom and gave it to the teacher. Normally he will shy away and make me or his daddy do it, but he did it this time. He wasn't even interested in giving me a hug and a kiss, he was making his way to the mat where the other kids were sitting. The teacher had to tell him to say good bye to me. He hugged me and kissed me. He was so chuffed with his school clothes. He was a 'big' boy he said, but to mommy he is still my little boy. When we went to fetch him the teacher told me that he was very happy and fitted in as if he was there from the begining. He even sat longer on the floor reading his book and we had to wait for him. It was so nice seeing how calm he the class was him just relaxing enjoying pictures from a book. He did however refuse to say good bye to the teacher. When asked if he enjoyed school his highlight of today was playing with the chicken. I must also admit that he wasn't moody when we go and fetch him. When I went to fetch him from the other school I had a consistant moody child, but he came home today like a new little boy. I know it is still too early to tell, but I do think we had made the right decision and the best one to. I did take pictures, but you'll have to wait for Wordless Wednesday to get a view of Jarid in his school clothes.
We moved the boyz to their own room now that it is all done. I put a waterproof sheet their beds. It was Caydon's first night without the nappy and seen as we had 15 days dry nappy I decided it was time to say good bye to the nappy. My heart broke into little pieces as this is the last baby thing I could have held onto and now my baby is getting big. On the up side though we had a dry bed this morning, even Jarid's bed was dry. Caydon is getting too cute though, he too wants to go to school, but mommy still needs a little more time of him with her. I now have to make 2 lunches one for Jarid and one for Caydon. Caydon found a small bag that Jarid use to use and has now made it his. He puts anything and everything in it for 'school' and also wants his water bottle and juice to go in it. So when we take Jarid to school his bag also makes a trip and home again.
Well something about mommy. She has been trying to loose weight now for over a year, it has been a rough road. Up and down on the diet. She has eventually found something that works for her. If you interested in reading about mommy's journey down this difficult road you can go to her new blog and read up on it there.

A New Room For The Boyz
A few months ago we discovered that Jarid carpet beneath his bed was soaked. It was smelling mouldie. We pulled up the carpet and as we pulled it up the board that was underneath it all came up it was rotten. We moved the boyz to our room as they were forever sick, mostly Jarid. After moving them to our room they did not get sick again. As the cement was also wet and mouldie we had to wait for it to dry to see where the water was coming in. Just before Xmas we got someone to come and have a look. As we are renting we had to wait for mantainance to come and sort the problem out which they could only do after Xmas. They came and ripped the rest of the old wood away and put laminating flooring down. Found that because the room is leveled with the outside ground that the water was seeping in from the ground and through the walls. They have put a waterproof protection on the cement and wall. Then will be digging all around the wall and putting a waterproof paint outside around the boyz room. So things are looking up. We were able to move them into their rooms tonight. Here is what it looks like. It was a pity I didn't take before picture, but might have somewhere, will have to see.
Yeah found before Pictures.

So Life Goes On
Jarid is still in his old school, but life still goes on and we work through this week. So far we had 2 good days as Jarid knows that there will only be 3 days left of his 'baby' school and he'll go to 'big' school. He is excited about wearing uniform and his attitude has really been different the last 2 days. We have the days of the week up on the wall and before bed time we take that day off just so he knows that soon he will be done.
Yesterday Jarid's teacher told me that she would not move Jarid to the older group, because of his speech. As Jarid went to the Speech Therapist (his speech is so much better and he is understood a lot more) she told me that it would be best if he was in the older group. When I told the principal that Jarid will be leaving at the end of the week and told her what I felt especially due to Jarid having the speech problem and not emotionally being ready that I feel Grade R (if he couldn't be in a proper Grade RR) would be better and she agreed with me. She then agreed to put Jarid in her class (Grade R). She then said she can take one of the other younger kids (seen as Jarid was overlooked)out of her class and move them in to the younger group. I didn't feel happy about that, because I just felt that it was not going to be fare on the parent that has have their child in that group already and then her child gets moved, because of me not being happy. There has already been 2 kids that have left the school, 3 when Jarid leaves and a few mom's who are unhappy, but can't really do anything, because the schools are all full for the Grade RR class. It is sad as Jarid has to leave a good friend behind, but I said to the mom that we must keep in contact and that we must make play dates for our kids. Jarid will really love that. I am sure I am making the right decision for my child and I am so happy with the choice of school I decided to go with. It was not my first choice, but still a good choice. I really loved the environment when I went there. It was warm and so relaxing. Maybe I went on a good day, but the kids really had nice manners and they were laughing and joking. It really was lovely and I am sure that Jarid will love it. As a mom now I feel calm as if a weight has been lifted from me. Jarid is happy and has been happy now in the morning for 2 days can't wait to go to 'big' school. We wrote a letter explaining our feelings and what we felt would be best for Jarid. Daddy has even fell inlove with the new school. He was very impressed when he went in the morning to pay for the first term's school fees. So now we wait for the days to go by.
They had a demo at the school today for Playball. I am so going to phone them and let Jarid go. He was so excited and enjoyed every moment of it. He came to ask me after it was done if he could do it. His new school is not going to be doing playball, so we might have to do it as an after school thing, but we will see. He might like the gymnastics for his age too. He diffenately needs to do physical stuff.
Well it is time to sign off and do a bit of work then off to fetch Jarid from school and go and buy his school stuff. Excitement all around this side.

Enough complaining some happy moments
Ok for the last few days, weeks, months, I have been going on and on about Jarid. Most Jarid at least. Well here is some news about Caydon. He is doing really well going to the potty, oh no wait toilet, yip that is correct I said toilet. Does not use the inside toilet seat or a step. He climbs on the toilet by himself and will do a wee and a poo, the potty has gone bye bye. Well things just gets better and better. On Wednesday when Caydon woke up in the morning his nappy was dry. He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up round about 7am. So I put the exact same nappy on that night, Thursday Morning he wakes up and once again a dry nappy. I put it on him again that night, Friday a dry nappy, so I think ok well let me just put the same nappy on and see how things goes. I put it on again last night and once again a dry nappy. Now I am thinking, mmm maybe it is time to throw the nappy away completely and see how things go from there, but also think I will leave him in the nappy for another week and see how things go. At the moment the boyz are sleeping in our room while we wait for them to lay down the laminating flooring. They have just put the water proof coating underneath due to water seeping in to their room. Then once that is done then we can move them back in. Probably by next week we will be able to get them settled in their room. Four months is way too long for them to stay in our room and there is a time in a mommies moment where even though she loves them to bits she needs her space and her rooooooooooooom.
Well mommy is feeling so much better today and seeing the excitement on Jarid's face and him mentioning he is going to 'big' school makes me smile. He can't wait. It is going to be a very, very long weekend, but we will get through it and then we can work on getting things settled for him and see how his attitude goes. Every now and again he will say mommy I am not going to be by the babies anymore hey. Shame my little big boy is growing up too quickly. I wish I could keep him forever little, but I guess there is a time when you just have to let them grow. The more I read up on his new school, the more excited I get and happy I feel that I am making the right choice.
We have also decided to keep Caydon home this year and next year and then when Jarid goes to grade 1 we will send him to the same school. There is a lot of activities at the new school that Caydon will love and I am sure I will meet parents who will have kids around Caydon's age who I will get to know and then can make play dates with. Also Daddy and I spoke and this is the year that I work on getting my learners I have the books now to just renew my id book and book my learners so I can try and get my drivers as soon as possible. I am sure this will be a good year. Hold thumbs.

Tearful and Sad
So today on our way to school. Jarid made it very clear he did not want to go to school. He does not like the school. He says he is bored. He is not a baby and he is with the 'babies' (3-4 year olds). He then asked me if he could go to a different school. That was a shocker to me, because we never spoke about moving him out of the school in front of him. He didn't ask to stay with me, just to go to a different school where he can have friends. Now it is not that he does not have friends, because he does play with a boy at the school. I spoke to his teacher about it and told her about Jarid's attitude. She then told me that Jarid is too young to go into the next level and is emotionally not ready. Can that do with the fact he does not fit in at that school and needs a different structure? That is what I am feeling. I use to look after kids (teach them). I had a group of 2 to 4 year olds. As soon as they turned 4 I told the parents to find a place for them. Last year Jarid never mentioned leaving until recently. He wasn't happy there, but he never asked to leave and he loved his teacher. This morning instead of saying you going to school. I sat down and asked him questions. Why don't you like the school? Because I'm bored and the children are babies. Do you like the teacher? Yes I do, but I don't like the small children. Now Jarid is not a physical child, he isn't a child who likes to play a lot. He is a child that likes to read books and write. It is a tough decision. I don't find any fault in the school, because I don't know what they are going to be like yet. Yes there is new owners and it is run differently and is no longer a montesorri school in which I had put Jarid in, it is run like other schools. My problem is that Jarid is not happy. In the mornings he will leave me and go and play with the other kids, he doesn't cling to me and want me to stay, even though he says he is bored at the place. My mind is confused I tell you. I have phoned schools but unfortunately they are either booked or they don't take grade 00, so I am stuck. I can't take him out and keep him home, because the whole thing of not having enough friends is still going to be there and in fact he won't have any friends.
Update: I found a place to put Jarid into Grade 00 (Grade RR). It is not far from the college and I like what I see. I am feeling more relaxed and feeling very happy. It is actually going to be so cute. Jarid will be wearing a uniform. Gives me a sense of freedom of not having to worry about what will I put on him tomorrow. Life made a little simpler. Mommy's mind is at ease. Jarid is excited, because he is going to 'big' school and is going to be wearing a uniform like big children. LOL aren't they just too cute. Well now to relax and enjoy the weekend.

What To Do
Today School Started.
Jarid started at a Montesorri. The principal who ran it left in April last year and there was a new principal. Then the 3-4 year (then my son's teacher) old groups teacher left shortly after the principal and another teacher took over. Both the principal and teacher left at the end of last year. We have a new principal (also teaches the Grade R's) and a they have a new teacher too.
The 5 - 6 year olds where in one group. The school is no longer being run as a montesorri school and is going to be run differently. Mmm how, well the 3-5 year old are going to be in one group and the Grade R's are going to be seperated from the 5 year olds. When I got a letter on Monday saying that they look forward to seeing Jarid at school and his teacher is going to be A and she will be the Junior teacher, I was so confused. I expressed my feelings to my husband and asked a lot of questions with people telling me that my 5 year old should really be in Grade 00. Well I thought ok I'll just take him and see how things go and will see what happens.
When I got there I met a 'friend' who's son started there today to. Her son is 4 days younger then my son and found that he was with the Grade R's. I thought twice, why was my son with the younger group and not in the older group with his age group. When I went to fetch Jarid from school I went to ask the principal and explained the whole situation. She then explained that she only took the 4 older kids who are turning 5 soonish, because originally she was only going to take the 6 year olds, but due to the fact that she needed 4 6 year olds to complete her class so she would be able to register she took the 4 oldest. I explained that Jarid is older then the one little boy. She then said she doesn't know how she didn't see that and does not know how they could have missed it. Anyway she explained that the few that are in her class are still going to be there next year and will repeat Grade R again. Errmmm not sure if I want Jarid to do 2 years of Grade R, I think I'd prefer if he does a proper Grade 00 structure and then moves over to Grade R.
I'm in 2 minds, do I keep him where he is? Let him stay in the 3 to 4 year old group and then let him move over to the Grade R class or do I take him out and put him in a school that will let him focus on the Grade 00 class.
There are only 2 teachers and I think there are 20 in each group.
So now the Question is What Do I Do?

TWO DAYS LEFT THEN HOLIDAYS ARE OVER
I think the holidays has been way too long, but enjoyable non the less. Jarid and I have had some ups and downs, but over all it was truly joyful spending more time with him. Caydon also enjoyed having his brother home. Before I use to nag them to stop fighting would have to punish them every time when they faught, but these holidays things changed tremendously. Jarid became protective over his little brother and they had formed even a stronger bond then what they had before. Together they looked for something to drive me insane. Caydon is going to miss his big brother in the mornings while he is at school, but I am sure he will wait in anticipation for his big brother to come home.
Keeping Caydon for another year home, well at least for another few more months before I send him to school. We will see half way through the year how the undies and toilet goes then I might send him. Also I find he is still so tiny or it is just me not ready to cut the strings and let him grow up yet.
Jarid starts on Wednesday a fresh with a new teacher. Both the principal and Jarid's teacher had left at the end of last year. Jarid is very excited that he will be getting a new teacher and that he is moving up closer to the bigger class, because then (he says) he'll soon go to big school. Though 90% of the time he is not interested in school. He really does not like school. He'd rather be at home. He is an observer, he sits in the corner and will watch the other kids play and not play with them. I think Caydon will be different, he will be on the go all the time looking for new things to do. Where does the time go. As a child I remember I couldn't wait to grow up, time seemed to stand still. Remember watching the clock in the classroom tick away and me wondering when will it be home time, this teacher is boring or this subject sucks, now I wish time would stand still even just for a day, as adults you really see things differently to what you use to as a child. Come 2011 my first baby will be going to Grade R.
Well it is back to doing the washing and cleaning this house for now Have A Great Day.

Potty Training and Weeing In The Bed
With both boyz as babies I use to hold them over the potty before bathing them and then afterwards too. With Jarid he was easy to potty train and things ran smoothely. With Caydon I started the begining of last year, but he was just not interested in it. He faught me and faught me on the whole weeing in the potty. I then left him, but every day persisted and would ask him if he wanted to wee in the potty and he'd reply NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Well winter came and I decided to lay off the potty during that cold time, though I prepared him during the time. I kept the potty around at all times. Even though he had a nappy on I'd tell him that he needed to wee in the potty. He was still strong willed that he will not wee in the potty. I thought that was it, this child of mine will never be potty trained. September came and I tried again, I managed to get him on the potty and when he asked for something I decided to say you wee on the potty I give you youghart, you wee in the potty mommy will do this. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. As it got warmer we put up the kiddies pool and Caydon wanted to swim. I told him he can swim if he wee's and poos in the potty. First there was a no, then when he saw Jarid swimming he also wanted to have fun, so without me asking him or bugging him one day he just brought me the potty and showed me he did a wee and a poo, yip both at the same time. We went to throw it in the toilet and said bye bye poo, which we do every time he does a poo and he pulls the lever. I keep his potty close by and when he needs to use it he runs to it and does his business then brings it to me to clean. He now goes to the shop in undies and will ask to wee. I thought I was going to have problems with him using the 'big toilet'. At first he looked and asked for his potty, then I told him that his potty is at home and he needs to use the big toilet, because we can't go home. He looked at me and asked for his nappy, even though I did have one just in case. I told him I did not have a nappy. I thought for sure he was going to throw a tantrum, but then he decided he couldn't hold that wee in any longer and let me hold him on the toilet. Now all he wants to do is sit on the toilet. We had one of those seats you put in the toilet, but it broke and I haven't had a chance to replace it, so for now I just hold him. He is loving wearing undies like his big brother. He was even more thrilled that one of his undies has bugs on it. He loves bugs. Caydon is day time potty trained as soon as the boyz room is completed and they move into there, I'll be removing Caydon's night nappy. Wish me luck when that time comes.
On another note though WHAT DO I DO? IS THIS NORMAL FOR MY ALMOST 5 YEAR OLD TO BE WETTING HIS BED?
With Jarid I used the tap as a means for him to wee in the potty, but am now finding that he wees in the bed something I just cannot shake off. We have one or two nights that are good, then the rest he wees. I have had to stop his intake of liquid at 3:30pm. If he drinks anything after that he wees in the bed. People have told me to see what he drinks. If he drinks a lot of juice he'll wee in the bed, I cut the juice to one 300ml a day which he gets at lunchtime the rest of the day he drinks water. A friend even told me that milk can make him wee if he has too much, but he gets 250ml in the morning with his cereal and nothing after that. I know if I drink a lot of water it makes me want to go to the toilet a lot and I assume it is the same with kids, but is it good to cut the childs liquid intake at 3:30pm? It is summer and he is thirsty by 5pm. Sometimes stopping the intake of liquid doesn't even help, because sometimes he will still wee in the bed. People say wake him up twice during the night and take him to the toilet. It does not help. Once we did it 3 times and still by 7am when we get up his bed is wet. He is a fast sleeper and seems to sleep through anything and everything, but has become such a problem and I am so tired. I am going to be taking the night nappies off Caydon soon so gonna have double bed trouble, though the other night Caydon woke up and asked to wee on the potty. I took his nappy off and put him on the toilet and he wee'd, so holding thumbs it might be a good thing.
Back to Jarid. I tried the rewarding chart for not weeing and taking something away if he does. The rewarding chart didn't help and only made him have nightmares and he'd wake up crying saying he wee and now he can't get a sticker. It was heart breaking so I thought the rewarding chart should only be used for certain things. I also felt that it was just too much for him. He is only 4 and too many things he had to get to be rewarded, so I took the weeing in the bed off the chart. I also decided not to take anything away from him if he kept on weeing. I decided to leave it and rather find another means. Someone told me that I should let him wash his bedding every time he wee'd, make him feel what it felt like when mommy had to do it. I just think that is cruel fo a 4 year old, maybe a teenager, but not a little boy. He still needs to be a little boy.
I was told to give him a pkt of salty chips to eat at 7ish before bedtime, but I am against them from eating anything that shouted out luxury, maybe it is worth the try though I guess. I guess time will tell. Now it is off to bed for me. Sleep well all.

More Holiday Picture
Jarid loves clothes, so if I buy him a new top or pants he is willing to pose for me. Moments like these I wish I had a little girl and had all the cute dressess to dress her up in, but I tell you never new how much fun one can have with a boy who loves clothes. I actually forgot about these tops I had bought for them. Jarid found them and then was all in a fun mood saying, take pictures of me mommy, take pictures of me. I decided to do something different and took the boyz for a walk in their new tops. Errrm what a mission it was with Caydon he was all over the place, it is a good thing that where we stay is safe, but still I had to watch him, so didn't land up with that many pictures as I hoped so. You can see a few up on top the cowboy style and here are some more. Enjoy.
The first four of the boyz where taken in the field just outside our house. The grass is long and brown, though I didn't let them go in too far in fear of snakes. We get puff adders here so was not going to take that chance, especially with Caydon who loves creepy crawlies and will pick up anything that creeps. Jarid was not in the mood to have his picture taken here. He said it wasn't a nice place, so I didn't push him. I just went with his flow.

Then a distance away these were taken. It was a gravel parking area, which the boyz had fun playing there.

Then Jarid found this area which was just across the road from where we were. He was all mommy look I am a farm boy and Caydon was no cows, no horses, not farm. The went on like that for awhile it was too cute.

We then made our way to the bell tower where Jarid insisted on going. Here are some shots of them playing there.

Hope you enjoyed these holiday pictures, please come again for more holiday pictures.

Bye Bye Xmas
Last night the tree came down, much to Jarid's dismay and tears. Why mommy, why must the xmas tree be put away. He was really heartsore he wants to leave the tree up forever, because it is such a pretty tree mommy. I must admit it is so heartsore taking down the tree after it only being up for a few days. The work one puts decorating it just for those few days, but I know it is worth it. Making Xmas exciting for the kids just to see their priceless smiles and joy of Xmas. Caydon then says bye bye shismas. It was too cute. Now back to letting Jarid enjoy his holidays and try and find someone who knows when school starts. Till next time.

Sleepy Child
Last night before going to sleep I woke Jarid up to go to the toilet. Anyway he woke up and went without a fuss. I went to switch off the dinning room light and came back to find him weeing on the seat instead of inside the toilet. I had a good chuckle for awhile. This morning when we woke up I asked him if he remembers what he did last night. He replied wee'd on my bed. When I told him that he wee'd on the toilet seat he would not have it. He says I am silly. Then I told him to go and ask daddy. He laughed and said it is funny, but he still did not wee on the seat. If only I had thought of snapping a picture to show him. LOL thinking about it now it would have made a good 21st picture with the saying my first drunken moment. Don't worry he was not drunk, just sleepy. hehe

Just Another Day
Ok so today is just another day. Nothing planned, nothing to do. Daddy started work today or at least had a few things he needed to do something in that line. The gardener is cutting the grass so both boyz are inside as he leaves the gates open and Caydon has become a wonderer so no playing outside for the time being. It looks like it is going to be a pretty hot day today. Well I guess I should carry on with our Xmas story.
I told you of our Xmas Eve day, it was a totally nightmare. Anyway things got better. We went and got pizza it was a whole build up for Xmas a special meal. The boyz then bathed and went to bed. In no time were they asleep. While sleeping I brought all the wrapped gifts and put it under the tree. Unfortunately I could not wrap the bikes so I just put towels over them. Now I sat and tapped my fingers while I waited for the boyz to wake up. I tell you waiting can be a pain when you want to see them open their gifts. I got my camera out and checked the settings and the batteries. Then to bye some time went and bathed. Checked up on the kids who were fast asleep I almost thought that when it hit 12 am they would still be asleep, unfortunately Jarid woke up wet. He wet the bed (something I am trying to work on, which we succeed most days and have the odd days). He was most unhappy and sad, because he felt that he wasn't going to get any gifts because he wee'd in the bed. I stayed calm and told him that it was an accident. I then realised that the bed was not wet. He had actually gotten up to go to the toilet but did not make it to the toilet and assumed that he had wet the bed. LOL I then got him dressed in the clothes I laid out for him. After he was dressed I let him sit on the bed and then woke up Caydon. Oh my what a nightmare. He was not a happy chappy. I dressed him and then daddy played jingle bells. Jarid's eyes went wide and shouted mommy santa is here, santa is here. I told them to go and look and wow the smiles on their faces when they saw the gifts under the tree. Then Jarid realised that we had forgotten to put milk and cookies under the tree for santa. He wanted to know if we left them there now if santa would come back and fetch them. I had to think of something to say. Then I told him that santa would not be able to come back, because he has to go and give lots of other little kids their gifts and that I am sure santa is happy he didn't get some more cookies and milk as he must be so full already from all the cookies and milk that he got from the other little kids houses. Then I got a 'oh mommy you silly, santa needs to eat and drink a lot now so that when he sleeps during the year he won't wake up too early and think that it is Xmas.' Where do kids come out with things like this. It just amazes me the stories they come up or more like solutions to why Santa does not come every day. I'm not complaining I love it. Well I guess I should add some more pictures of the night they opened their gifts.

My little unsure reindeer.

Opening gifts.

Oooh worm. Caydon loves bugs, spides and worms, well actually he loves any creepy crawly. He has been stung 4 times by a bee, bitten 3 times by a spider and still he will pick them up. 4 days ago he picked up this spider which looks huge. Not sure if it is dangerous, but it sure looks scary. Aaaarrrggg. Well we bought him a worm world and Jarid got the Ant Farm.

Oooh bucket and spade.

Yeah army men, alot of small toyz to be left lying around and trampled on.

Caydon Playing with Jarid's Xbox steering wheel.

Jarid driving.

Oooh a tank, Jarid is into army things at the moment.

Caydon was in heaven when he saw what he got. He loves cars.

Oooh a gun, just what I wanted. I am usually against guns. I hate them with a passion, but seeing my child pick up everything and anything to use as a gun I decided to rather teach him safety about it then prevent him from playing with it. I have laid out rules about the toy gun.

Caydon also got one, though he is not into it, it is more for daddy to play with Jarid.

See that smile on his face.

Oooh our bikes. As you can see Caydon already wants to 'ride'.

As you can see Jarid rather prefers to test out his gun then take his bike for a ride.

Caydon decided to also test out his gun or more like explore it. Mmm what is this thing how does it work.

Ok here is another story. Tasha our dog also got a gift wrapped up biltong. She sniffed it and then decided that now was not the time to be eating that stuff so she jumped on the couch and sat there watching as the kids enjoyed themselves. Though she could not keep her eyes open as you can see.

Fast asleep in doggie dreamland.

Preparing for Xmas
On the 23rd December we put up the tree and made a letter box for Santa's letter to go in. Then Jarid sat down and wrote his letter to Santa. After he wrote his letter he put it in the letter box. He then asked me if Santa comes twice one to fetch his letter and then again to bring him gifts and if so won't it take him a long time to get here the second time around? I had to think quickly. So this is what I told him.
Santa has little helpers these little helpers are called elves. Some of the elves help santa make the toys and some collects all the letters for Santa. Santa then reads all the letters and before Xmas brings the children all over the world gifts.
(Clever little monkey then says to me how does Santa read all the letters? Does he read fast).
Mmm I really had to think fast on that one so I carried on telling him.
That santa does not get the letter and put it down and waits for later like we sometimes do, he opens his letter straight away and reads it and because he only gets one page it is easier for him to read lots of letters quickly. He then sends the letter to the toy elves who then looks at the letter and if they have the toys you want they wrap it up and put it in the sleigh for Santa to make his way on Xmas Eve to deliver it to all the children while they are asleep.
Jarid then told Caydon that they must go to bed so that the elf can come and fetch his letter. They both climbed into bed with no fight and were asleep in no time. The next morning Jarid woke up and went straight to the letter box where he found his letter was gone and two sweets which he said that one was for him and one was for Caydon. I thought it to be too cute for him to have to share the sweets especially seen that he only had two, but he did. He was very excited. The whole day he asked me when is father xmas coming and I kept on telling him when it is dark and all the little children is asleep. As soon as it got dark, he was bathed and in bed asleep he couldn't wait to see presants under his tree, but that will be another story for now I am going to sign off and go and make me a cup of coffee. Enjoy the pictures until next time.
